Focus Through Divestiture
Baxter has also divested certain business segments to maintain its strategic focus. Recent examples are highlighted below:
Formerly part of Baxter, the BioPharma Solutions division focused on injectable drug delivery systems and pharmaceutical services. It was divested and now operates under new ownership as Simtra BioPharma Solutions.
Baxalta included Baxter’s legacy in specialty biologics and hematology therapies. It was divested and today it operates under Takeda’s Rare Diseases and Plasma-Derived Therapies business.
