Timely, clinically studied OLE therapy can be delivered in just ten minutes with the Volara System from Baxter. Continuous Positive Expiratory Pressure (CPEP) therapy expands the lungs, helping mobilize and evacuate secretions. Continuous High Frequency Oscillation (CHFO) helps move secretions to the large airways. Throughout, aerosol medication is delivered to loosen secretions and help patients get the most out of their OLE therapy.

This pneumatic form of chest therapy delivers continuous pulses of positive pressure combined with aerosol medication to mobilize and treat retained secretions.

Integrated with CPEP and CHFO, it delivers medication during therapy to help loosen secretions.

Accelerated expiratory airflow mobilizes secretions to the larger airways, where they can be cleared by coughing or suctioning.
The Volara System promotes accurate, consistent therapy in hospital and home settings. With a wide pressure range that allows treatment for a broad range of patients, it can be used with a mouthpiece, facemask, or tracheostomy adapter. Its patient circuit features an ergonomic handle, multiple interfaces and nebulizer delivery.

Clinical Data
A 419-patient, two-phase multi-center study1 showed that pulmonary treatment with OLE therapy, along with standard respiratory therapy, reduced the rate of certain post-operative pulmonary complications (PPCs) in high-risk surgical patients who underwent thoracic, upper abdominal, or aortic open surgical procedures.

Now patients can benefit from hospital-level airway clearance therapy at home. The Volara System uses the same OLE therapy that’s been shown to be effective for airway clearance in hospital settings.
The doctor will determine what treatment cycle is right for each patient. It’s then programmed into the Volara System device, providing easy one-button access for patients to complete their therapy at home, exactly as prescribed.
When mucus builds up, it creates an environment in which bacteria can grow. This can lead to repeated, serious lung infections that can cause additional damage to the airways and a vicious cycle of infection. This cycle can lead to irreversible lung damage and respiratory failure. Many people with a chronic respiratory disease or condition have trouble clearing their lungs.
